Common questions

How do I save a place from TikTok or Instagram?

Tap Share on the post, then Place Bank (scroll the app row, or tap More the first time). It saves and opens Place Bank, which reads the caption and finds each place.

Can I just describe a place?

Yes. Tap +, and type or dictate what you remember, for example "that new British pub on St Georges Terrace". It searches the web and Apple Maps and shows its best match for you to check before saving.

It found the wrong place.

On the check screen tap "Wrong place?" to pick another result, or on a saved place tap the ⋯ menu, then "Wrong address? Check it".

How do I share with my partner?

Settings, Shared list, Start a shared list, then Invite. On their phone: Settings, Shared list, Join with a code, Paste.

How do I share one place with a friend who doesn't have the app?

Open the place, tap ⋯ then "Send to someone". They get a link that opens on the web with the map, photos and opening hours.

How do group trips work?

Open the trip, tap ⋯, "Share with friends", and send the code. Friends join from Trips, +, "Join a friend's trip". Everyone sees the plan and the places saved in that city; your own notes and ratings stay private.

Opening hours are missing or wrong.

Hours come from the venue's website, OpenStreetMap and the web, and some places publish none. Tap "Change" on the Hours card to set them yourself; your hours are never overwritten.

How do I delete my data?

Deleting the app removes everything stored on your iPhone. For anything on the server (a shared list, group trip or link), email the address above.
